The Romilly Nursing Home is a modernised Victorian building which is situated in a leafy suburb just two miles from Cardiff city centre.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) UPDATE

At Romilly Nursing Home, the health, safety, and wellbeing of our residents and staff are always our main priority.

The growing threat of the Coronavirus (COVID – 19) outbreak means that we are continually reviewing measures to reduce the risk of infection and protect those in our care.

While there is no immediate serious concern we are putting plans into place to minimise the spread of any infection in the coming weeks.

We have therefore taken the difficult decision to close our home to all non-essential visits. We have not made this decision lightly, however, we have a duty of care to our residents and staff.

We are currently exploring measures to aid regular contact through telephone, Skype, Whatsapp, and Facetime.

We have been and are continuing to follow Public Health Wales guidelines regarding Coronavirus.

There is a lot of information about the virus in the media, however, we recommend that you view the Public Health Wales website for the most accurate and up to date information. You can access the site at https://phw.nhs.wales

The situation may well change over the coming days and weeks as the Government issue further advice and guidance. We will keep you updated on any changes to the arrangements at the home.

We are easily accessible by all transport links and have shops, a library, Churches and several parks close by. At the Romilly, we consider each resident to be unique and we endeavour to assist them in meeting their various requirements by promoting health and happiness.

All residents need change, and at the Romilly, all our staff are trained to maintain and preserve dignity. We offer each of our residents a warm and caring environment. Residents’ families are encouraged to participate in the development of their individual care plans, which are designed to meet the particular individuals needs by the qualified nursing staff.

Our ultimate aim is to provide the highest standard of care, this is addressed through activities created to encourage mental alertness, self esteem and social interaction with other residents.
